Puttin' on the Ritz-3225J

Updated: Feb 22, 2020

Hello Digi Divas, Today I want to share with you my NEW "Puttin' on the Ritz" - 3225J digi stamp set. He is a dashing and handsome little penguin all dressed up, cane and flowers in hand; ready for his date for Valentine's Day!

I know many of you are still in the Christmas mode, but I need to keep ahead of you... However, I do want to wish each and everyone of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a BLESSED NEW YEAR! Come along as I share with you a step by step tutorial for this delightful little card of my NEW creation!

Suggested card size: 7"x5"

Card Front: Size the Penguin image with hearts to

3¼x4¼". I copied and pasted 2 more times for a

total of 3 images (an extra just in case).

Select the sentiment of your choice. Print 2 (just in

case). One sized at 1" and one at ".

Print on Hammermill® 100lb. white card stock.

Color as desired, I used Copic® markers.

If you use the colored images you may want to

touch them up with Copic® markers.

Cut the images apart as shown.

Place the Tonic® Heart Die on the top image

and lightly trace around the outside edge.

Fussy cut the parts that need to overlap the

die to avoid being cut by the die (as shown).

Die cut the image, avoiding the heart

sections (as shown).

Cut the extra hearts on the lower left free

from the die cut, leaving the 2 hearts overhanging

(as shown).

Save the extra hearts for later.

Fussy Cut a second image of just the penguin.

Save the hearts to the side.

Using the WeR® Heart Doily Die and American

Crafts® Red Glitter Paper, run through your Big

Shot®. This is the red heart that goes with the pink

doily heart. Trace around the penguin/heart

image onto the back of the DCWV® Mercury Gold

Card Stock.Using a ruler, trace an extra ¼" around

the outline and fussy cut as shown.

Using the smallest Tonic Essentials® Heart

Die, center on the sentiment you chose and run

through the Big Shot®.

Using the third Tonic Essentials® Heart Die

and American Crafts® Red Glitter Paper run

through the Big Shot®.

Center and glue your sentiment to the red die cut heart using dimensional glue (as shown).

Cut the Paper Studio® Red Card Stock to 5x7".

Cut the AstroBrights® Eclipse Black Card Stock

to 4½x6½". Center and adhere the black piece

to the red piece using dimensional glue (as shown).

This is the base of the front of your card. Adhere

the pink doily heart to the card base.

Adhere the red die cut heart to the card base

(as shown).

Center and adhere the die cut penguin in

the heart image to the gold heart image using

¼" Tear-ific® Tape. Attach the combined piece

to the front of the card using dimensional glue.

Adhere the combined sentiment heart piece

to the card front using dimensional glue

(as shown).

Place the card front on a coffee filter.

VersaMark® the hearts. Apply dimensional

glue. Dump Sparkle Embossing powder on

hearts. Empty the excess back into your jar.

Apply heat with a heat gun.

Fussy cut some extra hearts from the extras

you have. Repeat the embossing process.

Attach singly to the front of the card in lower

right hand corner.

Repeat the glitter and embossing process with your

second penguin piece.

Card Base: Cut your card base 7x10 inches. Score at 5 inches. Adhere the card front to the card base (fold on top) using ¼" Tear-ific® Tape.

That is our journey in card making for today! I hope you had fun as I did sharing my NEW #3225J "Puttin' on the Ritz" images. Our little man is all dressed up, flowers in hand, and ready to go!
