Hello Digi Divas! It is amazing to me that it is already the end of November! My card stash has grown substantially since we started this year's card Holiday Card making adventure- I'm sure yours has too! I created this bit of feathery whimsy using my new Red Cardinals Digital Stamp Set. This set is new and on sale for November-December- just in time to finish your Christmas Cards!
Suggested card size: 7"x5"
MATERIALS LIST: COPIC® MARKERS:
4025J - Red Cardinals Digi Stamp Set E55, E59 - Branch
Hammermill® 100lb. White Coverstock G12, G14, G17, G28, G85 - Holly
The Paper Studio® - Winter Pad N4, N6, N8 - Bird Faces
Floral Accents® - Red Feathers R12, R14, R17, R29, R39 - Birds
7"x5" Cardbase Y02, Y15, YR21, E35 - Beak & Feet
Nuvo® Crystal Glace
VersaMagic® - Hint of Pesto
Tear-ific® Tape
Dimensional® Glue
Foam® Tape
To start I sized the birds and holly of the
5-1/2"x3-3/4" and centered on one half
of page. Copy and paste on the other
half the page as shown.
Insert sentiment of choice with one of the images.
Color as desired. I chose to use Copic® Markers and a list of the colors used is listed above. I
only colored the birds on the second image.
Cut the page in half as shown for the card front.
Fussy cut the second image birds as shown.
Cut the tails of the birds off.
Cut slits along the wings as shown.
Snip (2) two small feathers to be slid into the slit along the wings for each bird.
Snip (3) three of the long feathers per tail for the birds.
Glue the (2) two feathers of the wings into place.
Glue three feathers in place per tail and let dry.
Apply small drops of Nuvo® Crystal Glace on random berries of the card front and the birds' eyes. Let Dry.
Trim the card front to 7"x5" to fit the cardbase.
Using Foam® Tape adhere the fussy cut birds aligned over the birds on the card front as shown.
Cut 7/8" off the cardbase front flap.
Using a straight edge, tear 1/2" off of the bottom of the card front as shown.
Cut a 1-1/2"x7" rectangle of The Paper Studio® - Winter Pad piece. Edge using
VersaMagic® - Hint of Pesto as shown.
Using Tear-ific Tape adhere the Paper Studio - Winter Pad piece to the bottom of the interior flap to show from the front.
Using Tear-ific® Tape adhere the card front to the cardbase front flap with the torn edge showing the Paper Studio® - Winter Pad.
OPTIONAL: Using scrap strips and a name plaque arrange and adhere to the backside of the card.
