Hello Digi Divas! Thank you for stopping by today for my beautiful Summer Bonnet Card. I created this card using my new and on sale Summer Bonnet Digi Set. Who doesn't love a Bonnet in the summertime? A fun and beautiful creation anyone would love to receive. Join me as I share a special "Copic®" coloring technique for this tutorial.

91% Isopropyl Alcohol YGOO, V04, FV2 - Petunias

EZ-Tear® Tape YG61, YG63, YG67 - Leaves

(Optional - paper towel) YG61, Olive Multiliner - Ferns

This will be a FUN technique many are not

aware of. The beauty of Copic® is that they are alcohol based and can be manipulated

by using alcohol. Today we are going to use

an alcohol technique.

To start you will need my NEW 5040J-Summer Bonnet Digital Stamp Set. Size the

bonnet to 3-3/4"x5-1/2" on one half of the page. Choose a sentiment if you like. Size a small pre-color image to 1-7/8"x2-3/4". Print on Hammermill® 100lb. White Coverstock.

Color as desired. However, for this technique you will need Alcohol based markers.

Color the hat only! I colored it Y21.

Using Y23 make small X's in rings around the hat as shown. In the shaded areas use Y33 making small X's to make your shadow areas as shown.

Using 3 stands of twine (Cotton is best) I used jute only because I did not have cotton twine. Loosely braid them together, about 18".

Apply a small amount of 91% alcohol to the braid. Wipe any excess off. Lay the braid in the shape of the hat, cover with your hands and count to ten. Lift and repeat until you have covered the entire hat row by row. The hat top is the hardest. Coil the braid and cover with your hands and count to ten.

Let the Image dry. (I used my heat gun to help it along.)

Color in the balance of the image. A full list of colors are listed above.

Using a straight edge, tear your edges of the image to 4-3/4" x 6-3/4" rectangle.

Wrap your 1/4" Bright Blue Satin Ribbon around the upper left corner, under the image and back round the lower right corner and tie in a bow.

Cut a 5"x7" rectangle of Neenah Astrobrights® Lunar Blue Cardstock. Center and adhere the image on the 5"x7" rectangle of blue, using EZ-Tear Tape.

Adhere the card front to the card base. Make sure the fold is on the left.

OPTIONAL - Oval Punch the small hat image, a scrap of the Blue and a name plaque arranges and adhered to the backside of the card.

I hope you enjoyed this journey and learnt something along the way. I always enjoy a challenge... especially in my coloring. I would love to see your creations over at my challenge were anything goes.
